An orchid when it blooms can last forever. Since it blooms in the winter months it adds much needed color to a garden.The word orchid is derived from the Greek word (orchis) for testicle because of the shape of the root tubers in some species of the genus Orchis.There are more than 25,000 different types of orchids existing naturally.
Orchids come in every color of the rainbow, with the exception of one.
The orchid flower gives us… VANILLA!
