Description
Ganeshs is one of the beloved Gods in Hindu pantheon of gods. Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesha's birthday. He is the younger son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Ganesha is known by 108 different names and is the Lord of arts and sciences and the deva of wisdom.
Hindus celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi for 10 days, and on the the 11th day of this festival is Ganesh Visarjan. The statue is to be immersed in a river or the sea symbolizing a ritual see-off of the Lord in his journey towards his abode in Kailash while taking away with him the misfortunes of his devotees.
